If Your Hand Cannot Reach

The chapter where the system admits that people are poor. The guilt offering is a lamb — or two turtledoves, or, if you cannot manage birds, about two litres of flour with no oil and no frankincense on it. The Hebrew idiom for the condition is physical: if his hand does not reach. And the outcome is stated in the same words at every tier: the priest makes atonement, and it shall be forgiven him.
